Tiga Dosen Tamu bagi Mahasiswa Hukum Perlindungan Konsumen

Mahasiswa Kelas Hukum Perlindungan Konsumen mendapat kesempatan yang berharga karena kedatangan tiga dosen tamu sekaligus, pada hari Rabu, 15 Maret 2023.

Narasumber pertama berasal dari Yayasan Lembaga Konsumen Indonesia (YLKI). Sebagai salah satu instansi yang bekerjasama dengan FH UPNVJ dalam program mahasiswa magang MBKM, YLKI merupakan Lembaga Perlindungan Konsume Swadaya Masyarat yang pertama dan sangat aktif mengkritisi setiap kasus konsumen yang muncul di masyarakat. 

Kali ini YLKI diwakili oleh Rio Priambodo, SH yang menjabat sebagai Kepala Bidang Pengaduan dan Hukum. Beliau merupakan alumni dari Fakultas Hukum UPNVJ angkatan 2014. Dalam penjelasannya, beliau menyampaikan di tahun 2022, YLKI kebanjiran pengaduan sejumlah 800 pengaduan. Melihat pengaduan yang sebanyak itu, bisa dikatakan permasalahan konsumen pun makin pelik. Diperlukannya bantuan dari berbagai pihak untuk bisa meminimalisir kasus konsumen. Salah satunya peran mahasiswa yang bisa menjadi perpanjangan tangan kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya hak-hak konsumen.

Narasumber kedua adalah wakil dari Komunitas Konsumen Muda Indonesia (KKMI), Mufid. Beliau membahas tentang efek negatif rokok. Bagaimana budaya merokok masih dianggap hal yang lumrah di kalangan masyarakat. Begitu juga di kalangan mahasiswa, tidak sedikit mahasiswa yang masih ditemui merokok di sudut-sudut kampus. Butuh kerjasama dan kesadaran bersama untuk mewujudkan kampus bebas merokok.

Narasumber ketiga yaitu Sularsi, SH, MH. Beliau berbagi informasi seputar tata cara berperkara di Badan Penyelesaian Sengketa Konsumen (BPSK). Sebagai salah satu anggota BPSK Provinsi DKI Jakarta, beliau menyampaikan bagaimana sengketa konsumen yang sering ditangani disana. Pelaku usaha dan konsumen diharapkan mempunyai titik temu tanpa perlu berperkara di pengadilan. Tentunya dengan waktu yang lebih singkat dan menguntungkan kedua belah pihak. BPSK merupakan jalur penyelesaian sengketa non-litigasi.

Dari seluruh paparan yang dibagikan oleh narasumber diharapkan memberikan wawasan baru bagi mahasiswa kelas Hukum Perlindungan Konsumen yang diampu oleh Sylvana M.D. Hutabarat SH,MH. Mahasiswa tidak hanya mempelajari teori di dalam kelas namun juga mengetahui aplikasi teori tersebut dalam prakteknya. Mahasiswa mendapatkan gambaran yang menyeluruh tentang permasalahan konsumen yang nyata di masyarakat dan bagaiman penanganannya secara praktek.
